The VILLA TEMPLI ACADEMY

The Villa Templi Academy was born in Tempio, where it still operates and has its centre. It is made up of a group of men and women of different ages and social classes, who have been bringing to light and studying the roots of the Sardinian People -especially those from Gallura- for many years. The re-discovering of the ancient costumes, of customs and songs led to a unique folkloristic performance of ethnic music. A performance that the Academy- thanks to the commitment of its members- exports everywhere in the world: from the least and most secluded village of Sardinia to the most exclusive hotel of Costa Smeralda (a luxury resort), from the most important cities in Italy to the most prestigious capitals in Europe, from the poorest country of Latin America to the most expensive hotel in Acapulco or Mexico City. It is a spectacle full of pathos where in a crescendo of dances and songs, performed on a hypothetical town square or on a country plain under the merciless rays of the sun, one can slowly discover the ancient and proud soul of Sardinia, its customs, its social problems, its being as a People, a Nation and a Continent in spite of raids, robberies and injustices suffered over centuries.
